Family :D

WARNING THIS POST IS GOING TO BE FULL OF PICTURES AND NOTHING BUT PRAISE ABOUT MY AMAZING FAMILY!!! 

(because really anyone would be lucky to have such as amazing family as i do) 

Okay so i know i kinda mentioned it above, but I really do have an amazing family :)  We have the best time together, and when we do anything, ANYTHING at all our head count always turns out to be in the high twenties!  YEP we're that big!

So let me introduce you!

this is the family :D  (yes we've added quite a few, and unfortunately have lost one) BUT this is us!! :D  On any average get together there are over 20 of us!  See told you, no event is small in this family!



Grandma & Grandpa



and they are the ones that started it all...you see back in 1960 something in a small town in Los Angeles, Just Kidding, I'm not going back that far, but these people are the ones that started this amazing family! :D

So, let me tell you a little about this crazy family we consist of 4 kids-all offsprings of these two!  EIGHT grand kids and FOUR great grand kids!  Plus all the extras that we have added in over time! 

So a little more about my family...we LOVE to make a HUGE deal out of holidays, birthdays (especially since there are only a select few of us that have our own birthday, since my aunt, my sister, and me have the same birthday, my uncle and my cousin have a birthday one week before us, and in June there are THREE birthdays within 5 days of eachother!, one that shares her bday with New Years Eve, and one with Thanksgiving some years), 

graduations, or actually any event that we can.

Sometimes we have HUGE parties for said events and they always end up like this!

and around here we LOVE halloween!

and of COURSE the next morning we always look something like this

When we have Birthday Parties we NEVER forget to

Have a Michelada Cup Birthday Cake...and ALWAYS

Have TWO drinks in your hand at a time

(unless you are carrying a baby OR under the age of 21 of course)

(YES a three year old was our Photographer and she is the BEST one I have ever found)

GO to Vegas as a FAMILY and have the BEST time you've ever had!!

(see it was my bday and i had TWO drinks)

AND YES you get extra fun points if you take a tram somewhere and THIS drooling guy is sitting next to the QUIETEST person in our WHOLE group...it makes for a WAY more interesting story when you come home!

AND of course we aren't stingy with eachother!!  We share all of our drinks with eachother ESPECIALLY with 85 year old Great Grandma! :D

Oh and when we're in Vegas on said trip, we make sure to go to Bingo and be really fun and loud so everyone is jealous of how cool of a family we have :D

When we have a special event like graduation we always make sure to

.

1.) Go together in a HUGE group!!

2.) Takes lots of Pictures of the group AND we NEVER forget to add a random pink shirted guy to our group...I mean the more the merrier right? 

TWO things that we do EVERY SINGLE year for the past couple of years is

Go to March of Dimes...

You see...this little girl

was born at 2 lbs 1 ounce, and she is striving now!  Just a normal little girl...so every year for the past THREE years we have been at March of Dimes, walking and raising money for Team Miracle Baby :)

AND we don't forget to go on our ANNUAL Family Trip EVERYsummer!

When we go to school events we always make sure to scream the loudest, and be the proudest family there, because we ALWAYS are!

AND we always do funny things to the youngest kid, because really everyone needs a good laugh right?

I don't think that I could have enough time in the day to go on and on about how much i love my family and how much they truly mean to me.  I mean we share everything we are the closest family I have ever met, we are there to celebrate and cry to eachother, we are there for our lowest and our highest points.  We have the BEST time together and I'm so glad that this little baby

is going to meet them all VERY soon!!  and we will have more memories and pictures to add to our already existing ones, and I can't wait!  :D

Baby Laines-17 Weeks

How far along: 17 Weeks :)

Baby's size: a little over 5 inches, the size of an Onion  

Miss Anything: yesterday was mothers day and we had a BBQ @ my gmas house, so we ended up stayping pretty late I miss being able to stay up late and wake up early with minimal tiredness, I swear if I had ANY time off of work that I could use to go home right now I so would, I feel so exhausted and it's really making for a SUPER terrible monday :(

Best moment this week: getting to schedule our ultrasound appt!  May 31st can't get here fast enough :D

Movement: no, I'm pretty positive that I felt he/she move on Friday night, I felt something that felt exactly like what everyone said it would, and to think I thought they were crazy when they said it would feel like bubbles :)

Food cravings: STILL FRUIT!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: STILL CHICKEN!!

Maternity Clothes: still not yet, BUT I'm getting pretty mad, because NONE of my clothes fit me anymore!  NONE of them!  I seriously have to wear my pants completely unbuttoned or with a rubber band it's getting terrible, I feel so big and I'm only 4 months :((  and YES the doctor checked, it's NOT twins!!

Stretch marks: none yet...still praying.

Symptoms I HAVE: still feeling a little restless, some days are obviously better then others but still so tired...i don't even want to think about what the third trimester is going to be like

Doctor’s Appointment: we had an appt on Thursday that was LAME!!  But they did schedule our gender ultrasound!!  WOOT WOOT!!! ;D

Gender: still don't know yet, and still hope it's a girl.

What I’m looking forward to: this week it changed a little bit, I'm really looking forward to being able to look at baby websites and know what I need for the baby, I.E. what type of crib, car seat, etc, they all need to be either a boy or girl color!

Belly Button in or out: in

Wedding rings on or off: on, i'm dreading the day i have to take them off :( i love them too much

Happy or Moody most of the time: still happy, and still crying for every little thing :,(

Sleep: It's getting a whole lot better, I'm able to sleep through the majority of the night now, woot woot...let's just hope it continues this way!

Showing: I feel like now you can tell a little bit, not enough for anyone to come up to me and ask me, but enough that if i said i was preggers someone would definitely say i thought so...

It's Okay!!

Wow!  I've been so busy today, but I am going to do a real quick It's okay, because really it doesn't feel like Thursday if I don't :D  If you'd like to participate head over to Brunch With Amber and join on in :)

It's okay....

i haven't posted anything of substance this entire week, I've had other things on my mind

that I have a Dr. Apt today, and I'm super excited because I hope she tells me when they are going to tell me if this baby is a boy or a girl :) (hopefully in two weeksssss)

i haven't checked my bank account in a couple of days, because i know that it's going to have less money in it then i hope...

that i am obsessed with Battle Nations, because my hubby got me hooked to it, and i'm so mad that i only have 113 soldiers -.-

i have been having super weird and kinda scary dreams with kids that say they are the kid, but they don't look anything like the actual kid, kinda like in a remake of the original except i'm IN the movie and it feels super real and scary!!

that i tried to use html codes in the new blogger the other day and it wouldn't work and then i tried googling it to see what was going on and i just got more confused, made me wish that i would have got my degree in graphic design instead...can i go back??  get my money back from all of the school i already paid for and get a different degree???  pretttyyyyyy pleaseeeeee

my room has been a mess for weeks now and we never seem to find a time to clean it....i have cleaned out my clothes THREE times now, and still messy...i'm blaming it on the husband, i mean he hasn't gone through his clothes ughhh ever...

i loooooooooooove US weekly but can't seem to find time to read ANY of them!

that i'm sad that the muffin is pregnant :(  so we scheduled an appt to get Fox neutered and that just made me more sad....

that i kinda missed school yesterday when i was going through all of my old assignments :/  i really kinda do miss having to work on papers and assignments and just learning!

that my emails a day annoy me so much that sometimes i want to turn the notification off!!!  I've tried unsubscribing and it does NOT work!!  SUPER annoying!


OKAY...thats it...gotta go!  have lots to do today!  OH and

HAPPY MEXICAN MOTHERS DAY!! 
(since the husband insists that i tell everyone that even if we live in America)

Welcome back for another addition of Sometimes & Always!!

YAY!!  Is it really Tuesdsay ALREADY!?!?

Can't wait for the weekend, even if it was only ONE day ago!  Friday can never come fast enough!

Sometimes...

i forget that it's Fox's Bday and our "dating" anniversary

(yes we share the same day, isn't that so cute??  To the date, he's FOUR and we've been together FOUR years)

Always...

act like I remembered all day when I tell my love HAPPY ANNIVERSARY at 8 pm! :D

Sometimes...

i want to move out so bad, and think I can't wait to get out of this apartment.

Always...

get sad thinking about it, because this apartment is where we first came home as husband and wife, the only house the muffin and santiago know :(  I'm positive this is only going to get worse when I have kids and have to move.

i get really excited when i think good things might be happening

Always...

bring myself down to reality and remind myself not to get too excited because things might not work at as we hoped

i sit on the computer and look at vacation spots that i want to book to go to

remember that i'm not going anywhere at least until this baby comes out :/

It seriously took me so long to write this post.  my phone didn't want to work and since i'm not using my computer at home and the new blogger hates me I must type all of my blogs inside of the tiniest box ever!  NOT even joking EVER!  I can't even see all of my picutres all the way through..BUT at least you get to enjoy not ONE but TWO posts today!  Man, Tuesdays are amazing :D

Quesadilla Casserole

Sooooo I wanted to do something a little different, that I don't think I've ever done before, I wanted to post a recipe!  We originally got this recipe from one of those McCormick seasoning cards that they sell at grocery stores, you buy it once for like $2 and then you always have the recipe to make it at home whenever you want.  So we tried this one, because the card made it look deeeeeeeelicious!  We don't make it too often but when we do I swear we eat it for days (but that might be because the recipe makes a lot of it, or it's just that good, maybe both) 

So here we go....

Quesadilla Casserole!

This is the recipe card

I changed a couple of things after the first attempt not because it wasn't good, I just felt like it would make it taste that much better!!

According to McCormick you need...

• 1lb of ground beef
• 1/2 cup chopped onions
• 2 (8oz each) cans of tomato sauce
•  1 (15oz) can of black beans (drained and rinsed)
• 1 (8 3/4 oz) can of whole kernel corn, undrained
• 1 can (4 1/2 oz) chopped green chiles, undrained
• 6 flour tortillas
• 2 cups of shredded cheese

I tweeked this a little by changing these things...

• 1/2 cup chopped onions to 1 tbsp onion powder
• 1 (8 3/4 oz) can of whole kernel corn, undrained to drained
• 2 cups of shredded cheese to 3 or 3 1/2 cups of shredded cheese
• Sour Cream (optional)

and you need these spices

• 2 tsp. Chili Powder
• 1 tsp. Ground Cumin
• 1 tsp. Minced Garlic (I used Garlic powder)
• 1/2 tsp. Oregano Leaves
• 1/2 tsp. Crushed Red Peppers (optional)
• Lawry's Salt (optional)

That seems like a lot of ingredients but it's not and trust me this is DELICIOUS!

So you start by cooking the meat, I always add Lawry's salt to my meat because I hate when meat tastes plain, but adding it is totally up to you.

After you brown the meat then you add these bad boys

Green Chiles

Corn

Tomato Sauce

Beans

It will look a little something like this

Then you're going to mix it all together and it's going to start to look delicous

Then you're going to add in these bad boys

Garlic

Oregano

Cumin

Chili Powder

Pepper Flakes

and you're going to stir it all up again

YUMMMM

Now, you're going to let it simmer in the pot for about 5-10 minutes once it starts boiling...I added a little bit of water to the mixture about 1/2 of a tomato can of water, since I didn't use the water from the corn.  I used the corn undrained the first time and I felt like the whole dish was sweet from my corn, so I have used water ever since and it is delicous.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

After about 5-10 minutes you are going to get your 13'x 9' (sprayed with cooking spray) pan and add to it about two spoonfulls of the mixture to completely cover the bottom.

You're going lay 3 tortillas on top of it I fold them in half and then tear them so that they are covering more of the pan but you can do it however you want.

 

After you lay your tortillas out you're going to add 1/2 of the meat mixture to the top of your tortillas

Then you're going to add 1/2 of the cheese and by now it's looking mighty amazing!

You can use the 2 cups of cheese like the recipe calls for but I added extra because I like mine cheesy, just like a quesadilla!

Once you do this you are going to add the second 3 tortillas, then the rest of the meat mixture and finally the rest of the cheese!

It will look like this when you are finished.

Stick it in the oven for 15-20 or so minutes or until all of the cheese is melted.

Let it sit for 5-10 minutes

and then cut up into pieces and serve



I always add sour cream to mine, but you don't have to.

This recipe is definitely not an every day or week recipe especially since I use so much cheese!!  But it is so good, Oh and it makes a lot!!  I always forget that I want to cut the recipe in 1/2 since it's just me and the hubby but I always forget, and it makes for such good leftovers.  I seriously think of it more as a mexican lasagna because the tortillas act like the noodles and the cheese holds everything together.

Baby Laines-Week 16

How far along: 16 Weeks :)

Baby's size: a little over 4 & a 1/2 inches, the size of an Avocado  

Miss Anything: wellllllll since this weekend was Cinco de Mayo, and it was really nice and sunny outside, I did miss being able to have an ice cold beer or an icey margarita!

Best moment this week: weighting myself and finding out that I'm pretty good with my weight gain so far, lets hope it continues this way.

Movement: no, STILL not yet, and now everyones telling me it's a boy because I haven't....maybe this week?

Food cravings: STILL FRUIT!!

Hellooooooooooo and welcome to another edition of it's okay Thursday, thanks to Brunch With Amber!!

I can't believe it's already Thursday AGAIN!  WOOT WOOT only one more day of work left, YAYYY!!!

It's Okay that.....

.......I am OBSESSED with Bridalplasty on Netflix right now, OMG I hope it comes back on for another season, I can't believe I missed it when it was on!

.......I am a little obsessed with reality TV, just a little bit!

.......I think about my husband alllllllllll day long, I seriously sit at work and think about all of the funny stuff that he does, why is he so cute??

.......I go to sleep way early and if it seriously gets to be 11 and I'm not near going to bed I start getting mad, because I KNOW I'm going to be tired in the morning!

......I have NOT cooked dinner at all one time this entire week.  (okay, maybe that's really not okay)

.......I have two doctor's appointments this month and I can't wait for BOTH of them to come!!!

......after watching Contagion I refuse to NOT touch ANYTHING with my bare hands, YUCK!!!  I seriously don't know what took me so long to realize this!

......don't drink all of the water that I'm supposed to every day (okay again, maybe not) BUT I do try, TWO liters is just a lot of water to drink everyday!

......I have been wanting to go to the movies so bad, to see The Five Year Engagement!

......I often think about what the baby wil look like and I can't even imagine it

......I was literally counting down the days from now until we go on vacation in July :D

.....I have been really wanting to read a good book, but everyone has so many suggestions that I don't know where to start!

......I can't stand hearing anymore about Kim Kardashian!  BUT I still love Khloe & Kourtney, Kim's just so annoying!!

Thanks for joining me again, I can't believe that it's already THURSDAY!!  I can't be more excited, lets hope we have a fun filled weekend that doesn't go by too fast :)

THE BEASTSSSSSSSSS

Today I am going to talk about my little BEASTS as my love and I like to call them :D

I don't really know when or how we started calling ALL three of them this but we do and I love it!  Because in reality they are all small (well Santiago is small in comparison to a lion!) and they all have so much energy and well let me show you some pictures :D

he loves to dress silly

He is a crazy little beast, when we got him, he was already a year and a half old.  We would take him everywhere with us!  He was so good, he was already potty trained, he didn't really bark, loved being held and was so funny!  He even pees while standing on his two front legs!  It's actually quite hilarious!  He is an independent little animal, he HATES big dogs and instantly thinks he can eat them up if they are anywhere near him!!  His daily activities consist of sleeping, eating, going on three walks, barking at the big dogs, growling at Santiago AND sleeping!

He was our second baby, we got him as soon as we moved out of my parents house, and we've had him since he was a little tiny baby :)  He was so small that he could fit into a shoe!!

He is the funniest cat that I have ever met, he is so hyper and crazy!  He will literally RUN around our little tiny apartment four times going crazy, running and jumping over everything that is in his way!  He LOVES to torture both Fox & Marlee :)  It really makes for an entertaining day when he is in a mood he is also so sweet, he loves to lay on us Marlee.  His day to day activities consist of bugging Fox, sitting in the window to look at his girlfriend, (she lives in the apartments) and sitting in the bathroom window trying to attack all of the birds flying through the trees.

Isn't she so cute??  I got her as a graduation present from the husband when I graduated with my masters, at first I wanted to give her away!  She was so bad, she took so long to potty train, I would put her on the potty pad and she would sit there for twenty minutes and then walk away and pee on the floor!!  SO frustrating!!  I would often tell the husband that I wanted to give her away, BUT she was so cute!  I mean really?  Look at this face!

The first day we got her, she experienced her first softball game

 

so fluffy!!  and ridiculously adorable!!

She definitely has the energy to match her crazy hair!  And she's so funny!  She LOVES to torture her toys, she literally eats the stuffing out of all of her toys!  She has a lot of energy and she LOVES LOVES LOVES to lick, seriously if you put your hand down, she'll lick it, non-stop until you finally move your hand, if you don't move your hand she'll keep licking!  I am so glad that she eventually got potty trained, and is the best puppy now, she's so hyper and the complete opposite of Fox, but her and Santiago are best friends!  Daily she chews on her bone!

She runs around with Santiago, tries to eat Santiago's food!  Sleeps lots!  Goes on three walks, tries to get into the kitty litter, jumps on and off the counch, cries to get on the bed!  AND cries for treats and table food anytime we are in the kitchen, she's a brat i know but she's just so cute!

They are all so funny, and each of them has their own personality!  They all make me laugh on a daily basis, I'll leave you with some super cute pictures so you can get to know our beasts a little more :)
